Diabetes Program

The Pediatric Diabetes Program at UCSF Children's Hospital includes doctors, dietitians, patient educators and social workers. Our team works closely with families to provide treatment, information, support, guidance and help caring for children with diabetes.

In addition to caring for patients, the program conducts research on new diabetes treatments. Our patients have opportunities to participate in those studies if they wish.

  • See a UCTV video, "Sugar, the Bitter Truth," featuring Dr. Robert Lustig, a pediatric endocrinologist, who discusses the damage caused by sugary foods.
