Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual national event that calls attention to the shockingly high level of hate violence against transgender people. This year's commemoration at UCSF features four of the most renowned transgender advocates in the nation: Cecilia Chung, Yosenio Lewis, and Theresa Sparks, with UCSF's JoAnne Keatley as moderator.

Every year thousands of survivors of suicide loss nationwide will share in a day of healing and empowerment through the 10th annual National Survivors of Suicide Day sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. A 90-minute broadcast will be shown live to over 100 conference sites nationwide. UCSF Department of Psychiatry faculty and residents will moderate a discussion group after the broadcast. Admission is free and open to anyone who has lost loved ones to suicide. Coffee and pastries will be provided.
