Family Centered Care

Family-centered care describes the way we work with families at UCSF Children's Hospital to provide the best care for a hospitalized child. We respect the cultural and personal values and health care decisions of each family along with the recommendations and information provided by the health care team.

The partnership between families and health care providers is grounded in the understanding that everyone's role is important and that what we do together is greater than what any of us can do alone. Following this approach, the caregivers at UCSF Children's Hospital are dedicated to working with families to create a healing environment.
