
UCSF Children's Hospital has been ranked among the nation's best children's hospitals in nine pediatric specialties, making it one of the top-ranked facilities in California, according to the new 2009 "America's Best Children's Hospitals" survey conducted by U.S. News & World Report.

"When I first stepped foot into a children's hospital during medical school, I felt a unique energy that I never felt before. I thrived off that energy. I realized it comes from the kids themselves."

There will never be quiet on this set — it is, after all, a busy Bay Area hospital. But that isn't stopping young patients at UCSF Children's Hospital from writing, directing, starring in and editing their own movies, all while hospitalized.

PlaySafe has grown from a volunteer weekend clinic to a valuable player in the local high school sports scene. The team of certified athletic trainers, sports medicine specialists and orthopedic surgeons not only cover local high school games, they're also shaping the next generation of sports medicine professionals.
